Welcome to the worship and music ministries of United!
We seek to offer a multi-generational, blended worship service. We believe that each of us, whether young or young at heart, can worship side by side as we incorporate both contemporary worship songs and traditional hymns of faith in an effort to inspire the worship of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
While the style of music doesn’t really matter, what does matter to God is the heart of those who are worshiping Him. This is what Scripture says about the heart attitude with which God is pleased: “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, you, God, will not despise” (Psalm 51:1).
We also seek to worship Him in spirit and in truth. What does spirit and in truth mean? It means that we seek to have an encounter with the Living God through His Holy Spirit. He is Spirit and truth, and where He is, transformation occurs within our minds and hearts. The New Testament describes this change in Romans 12: “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (vs.2).
